Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to Clark Equipment Company, for a E42 R2 Bobcat Excavator to be purchased by the Municipal Services Department/Sewer Maintenance Division, in the amount of $74,843.64.
Recommendations:

Council approval to issue a purchase order.
Background:

The Sewer Maintenance Division of Municipal Services is adding an E42 Compact Excavator with high flow capability.  This will allow the use of all modern attachments requiring high flow hydraulics. This unit will be used in daily construction & maintenance operations of the Stormwater Division. This purchase is off of Sourcewell Contract #040319-CEC.

 

The dealer, Clark Equipment is providing this unit based on pricing provided by Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #040319-CEC.

 

Per section 8.06.004, Paragraph 4 of the City Code states competitive bidding is not required when purchases are made through a cooperative contract established by a government purchasing entity or cooperative. The cooperative bids used will have been established pursuant to RSMo. 70.220 or generally accepted governmental purchasing practices through the competitive bidding process.

 

Approval of this item authorizes the Finance Director to issue change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount, so long as appropriations are available.


Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $74,843.64.  The fleet funding is available in the 2024 fiscal proposed budget, on page 161, account number (5262-5405) under equipment in the Storm Tax Fund (013). This is allocated from 5262-5405 to cover this purchase.
