Agenda Title:

23-777 A resolution authorizing Councilmember John Perkins to Speak to the City of Kansas City, Missouri on behalf of the City Council, regarding the North Kentucky Avenue Bridge.
Background:

Ordinance No. 19274, approved by the City Council on November 15, 2021, authorized the execution of a cooperative agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for the construction of the North Kentucky Avenue Bridge Over Rock Creek Improvement Project (the “Cooperative Agreement”).

 

While the Cooperative Agreement was negotiated in good faith with authorized representatives of the City of Kansas City, Missouri (“Kansas City”), Kansas City has, thus far, not executed the Cooperative Agreement.

 

It is important to the City of Independence and its citizens that the North Kentucky Avenue Bridge Over Rock Creek Improvement Project be commenced as soon as possible.
