Missouri Election Law and Campaign Financial Disclosure Law call for the financial reports of candidates to be made to the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners and Missouri Ethics Commission. The City Clerk offers assistance to candidates by making a packet of forms available. The materials provided include the required petition blanks, Charter excerpts, Disclosure Law materials, and this ordinance. A list of names will be retained of those who file with the City Clerk the required nominating petitions, notarized Declaration of Candidacy form, and signed Notice to Candidate form. |

Fiscal Impact:
The Election Board invoices the City for the City's proportionate share of the actual costs associated with these elections. The expense will be charged to the 23-24 Proposed/Adopted Budget General Fund -Mayor and City Council, page 182 in 002-5226-Clerk Professional Services account.
