This amendment to the business license section of the City Code would allow the City to impose fines or fees.  This change would allow the City to either assess fines or fees, suspend or revoke a business license depending on the situation and circumstances. 

Currently, the City’s business license regulations only allow for the suspension or revocation of a business license.  This ordinance change would add the ability to assess fine or fees, in addition to suspension and revocation.  While suspension and revocation are important tools, it may not be appropriate in all situations.  Thus, the ability to assess fines/fees provides that alternative when suspension or revocation of a business isn’t appropriate.  

The Revenue generated by this new requirement will be deposited in account 4460 in the General Fund.
