Council action is requested to authorize the City Manager to approve a construction contract with Legacy Underground Construction, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $708,290 authorizing future minor change orders not to exceed $70,829 and/or time extensions for the 2023 Neighborhood Sanitary Sewer Project (No. 302004-1).

SHEDIGS IT, LLC: $895,344

 

City Staff have verified references from neighboring municipalities for Legacy Underground Construction, Inc. Their bid is being recommended for approval of this contract.

 

This is a budgeted capital project. 

 

Background:

City Staff have identified 3 areas of concern with existing and/or potentially serious issues within the gravity sanitary sewer system which will be addressed by this construction project. These locations are at Blue Ridge Terrace south of 23rd Street, W 24 Street S. east of S. Crysler Avenue, and Mill Creek Park.


Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $779,119 including contingency. Funding for the Neighborhood Sanitary Sewer Projects (No. 302004) is included in the FY 24 adopted budget, page number 182, account number 7030-5406.
