The Health Department has been provided an opportunity to receive additional funding for the Missouri's Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Enhancing Detection Expansion Program Grant. This grant will provide for the reimbursement of qualified expenses up to $1,061,103.00 from July 1, 2021, through July 31, 2024.
Council approval of this consent agenda item will provide for the opportunity for reimbursement of qualified staff expenses for the City of Independence. There are no matching funds required for this grant. |

The City was originally awarded $690,975 in 2021 for this grant program, and these funds were accepted by the Council in November 2021. This amendment increases the funding in the amount of $370,125 for a total of $1,061,103. Funds will be receipted and expenditures appropriated in the Grant Fund (015) on page 76 of the Adopted 2023-24 Budget. |

The net fiscal impact to the City is $0. The revenue in the amount of $370,128 will be deposited in the Grant Fund (015) and expenditures in the amount of $370,128 will appropriated to the Grant Fund account 015-4755-5101, page 97 of the Fiscal Year 23-24 adopted budget. There are no matching funds required for this grant.
