Executive Summary:

Payment of sick leave accrual for employees hired on or before 12/31/2023 will be paid out as a lump sum on their final paycheck or at 40 hours per week via bi-weekly installments. 

 

Employees hired after 12/31/2023 will not be eligible for sick leave payout upon retirement or separation of employment.

Previous Activity:

November 21, 2023: Personnel Board recommended approval. 
Background:

Payment of sick leave accrual upon separation was not clearly defined. This policy change clarifies the intent of the policy as it was written.
