Power and Light Transmission/Distribution department is requesting the purchase of a F-550 bucket truck to replace an existing bucket truck. Existing bucket truck is a 2013 model with a 10-year replacement schedule. Existing bucket truck has a bad engine and is out of service.
The purchase order, if approved, will be issued to All Around Truck that was low bidder of Model Versalift VST-47-MHI on Public Purchase – ITB #24015 - Ford F-550 Bucket Truck. Two lower bids were received, but they were for a vehicle incapable of meeting the needs of the department. Power & Light’s specifications were for a small bucket truck but the working height requirement needed to be at least 50' working height. The other bidders provided bids for a truck that only extends to a height of 45’-4”. The VST-47 truck proposed by All Around Truck has a working height of 52’-4”.
Approval of this item authorizes the Finance Director to issue change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount, so long as appropriations are available. |

Fiscal Impact:
The fiscal impact to the City is $192,486.00. Funding for the F-550 Bucket truck is included in the fiscal year 2023-24 adopted budget, page 250 under Other Operating Expenses, account number 0206123-5404, Vehicle Maintenance, Mobile Equipment, IPL Fund 020.
