Reports and Recommendations of the City Manager
1.Council action is requested to authorize the City Manager to approve an agreement with Oikos Development Corporation for activities which are to be carried out by them on behalf of the City for a sum not to exceed Four Hundred Eighty Two Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy Nine and NO/100 Dollars ($482,279.00).

2.Council action is requested to issue a one (1) year contract, with two (2), one-year renewal periods for Lobbying Services with John Bardgett & Associates for the City of Independence. (This item addresses Item 1.3 F in the Independence Action Plan).

3.Council action is requested to issue a purchase order for $74,700.00 to Kansas City Renovations LLC, for the Treatment Facilities Maintenance Division of the Municipal Services Department.

Council action is requested to issue a contract to Mississippi Lime for bulk loads of Rotary Kiln Lime. This is a two-year agreement with an optional third year for the Water Production Division of the Municipal Services Department.

Council action is requested to award a purchase order to the US Department of the Interior US Geological Survey (DOI-USGS) in the amount of $117,300 for annual groundwater monitoring testing and sample analyses for the Water Treatment Division of the Municipal Services Department. Approval is also requested for additional expenditures, subject to annual appropriation, for fiscal years 2025 ($145,300); 2026 ($173,800) and fiscal year 2027 ($164,900) to bring a total approval request of $601,300.

Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to Rand Construction Company in the amount of $403,476.00 for the Courtney Bend Water Plant Contact Basin #3 and Contact Basin #4 Project for the Water Production Division of the Municipal Services Department.
